DAILY SERVICES
WORK/LABORATORY AND COMMON AREAS

- Waste stations located in common areas are emptied and spot cleaned as required. (Wastebaskets in individual offices and cubicles are serviced weekly.)
- Landfill
- NOTE:Landfill waste container liners are only changed as needed.
- For large/heavy items (e.g., filters), please place them next to the waste station and mark them for removal.
- Recycling
- For removal of boxes – Users should remove packing material and place it in an appropriate container; then flatten and mark boxes for removal and place them next to the waste station or assigned building location.
- For large/heavy items (e.g., large glass bottles), please place them next to the waste station and mark them for removal.
- For large/heavy items (e.g., pallets and crates or material for salvage), enter a Transportation Work Order for removal.

- Spot mop or spot vacuum conference rooms, and classrooms, and straighten chairs.
- Sweep and spot mop all hallway floors.
- Damp mop all entryway floors, and vacuum/sweep entryway rugs.

- Report dirty or unserviceable light fixtures to Building Managers and/or Work Request Center.
- Check/Re-stock kitchenette roll towels and soap dispensers.

- Restock all restroom supplies.
- Empty wastebaskets, spot clean wastebaskets, and replace liners.
- Empty and sanitize all sanitary napkin waste receptacles.
- Clean and sanitize all commodes, urinals, dispensers, sinks, and door handles (paying special attention to areas where germs and bacteria may multiply).
- Wash and polish all mirrors and dispensers. Clean and wipe bright all metal fixtures.
- Sweep all restroom floors and damp mop with a disinfectant cleaning solution.
- Spot clean walls, partitions, doors, and light switches of fingerprints, marks and graffiti as required (report irremovable graffiti to supervisor).
WEEKLY SERVICES

- Vacuum all carpeted areas, including edges.
- Sweep and damp mop all hard surface floors in hallways, offices, conference rooms, classrooms, lunchrooms, and laboratories.
- Empty office and cubicle wastebaskets and spot clean containers as required. NOTE: Non-Recyclable waste container liners are only changed as needed.
- Dust and wipe clean all desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, and shelves (without disturbing work materials and personal items).
- Dust window sills and ledges.
- Clean both sides of the entrance door glass and interior glass.
- Sweep and mop stairs and stairwells and clean handrails.
- Clean and polish elevators, including door tracks.
- Sweep and mop kitchenettes.
- Wipe clean kitchenette microwave ovens (interior and exterior).
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen sink and countertop.
RESTROOMS

- Dust all areas, including, but not limited to, structural ledges and all ventilation registers.
- Wash all doors and door jambs.
- Clean porcelain with a mild abrasive cleanser.
- Damp mop floors with neutral ph solution.
- Clean shower stalls with washroom cleaner.

- Spot clean marks and smudges from walls, woodwork, doors, door frames, and areas around light switches. Dust all areas including, but not limited to, chair rungs, structural ledges, and baseboards.
- Dust all high areas and remove cobwebs, including, but not limited to, the tops of door frames, structural and furniture ledges, tops of partitions, picture frames, bulletin boards, interior window frames, horizontal surfaces in hallways, and building entrances and side panels.
- Wash all partition glass.
18 MONTH SERVICES

- Scrub or strip tile floors, as required, and refinish.
- Shampoo all carpeted areas.
- Clean kitchenette refrigerator.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES BY WORK REQUEST ONLY
DEEP CLEANING
In addition to regular services, Custodial Services offers “Deep Clean Services” on a request basis through the Work Request Center. A “deep clean” is a more comprehensive cleaning of a specific area. These services are typically performed by a team of custodians and scheduled with the requester. Many of the tasks in a deep clean are regularly provided custodial services but in a deep clean, these services are more detailed and time consuming. A deep clean service could be used in preparation for an event, VIP visit, or as preparation for the arrival of a new employee.
Additional services require a work request submission, and a PID. Under additional services, we provide custodial services in preparation for conferences and large meetings, additional deep cleaning requests, and additional trash and recycling bins.
Commonly requested deep cleaning services:
- Interior window cleaning
- Wall washing
- Clean window blinds
- Vacuum window drapes
- Furniture dusting/ cleaning
- Some upholstery cleaning
- Floor stripping/ scrubbing/ waxing
- Carpet and tile cleaning
- Restroom cleaning
Custodial Services will not move furniture or remove items from shelves for deep cleaning. Custodians will only clean the surfaces that are exposed or drawers that are empty.
TRASH BINS & RECYCLING
- Additional trash bins for general big move, recycling, office clean-up, big events, etc. A work order and valid project id is required for the request.
- Type of disposals we collect:
- General multi-purpose papers (does not include shredding – must contact transportation)
- Bottles, cans, cardboards,
- Compost, paper plates, and cups, etc
- Large material disposal must be requested through Transportation work request or Move Coordination

When hosting events on-site, you must submit a work order 72 hours in advance to request additional custodial service to support your event. Services available include: You must block off time in the room between events for breakdown/setup. Information to include in your request: There are additional requirements for events in B91 and B59: Custodial Services does not handle the movement of furniture (e.g., tables, chairs, white boards) from floor to floor.
