Facilities Engineering uses the Jira Service Management platform to make it easier to submit and track requests.
Services in Jira are organized by “projects.” See below for the current list:

Who can access Jira?
Any Berkeley Lab employee with a Jira account can access Facilities Engineering Services in Jira.
How do I create a Jira account? (required to access services)
- Access Facilities Engineering Services on Jira.
- When prompted, enter your LBL email address.
- The LDAP login window should appear. Enter your LDAP credentials.
- If it is your first time creating a Jira account, you may receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. If so, please click the link to complete the registration.
How do I check the status of my request?
Option 1: From Jira
- Access Facilities Engineering Services on Jira and log in if necessary.
- Select “Requests > Created by Me” from the menu in the top right corner of the portal.
- Adjust the filter if needed to see all requests (otherwise, you will only see open, unresolved requests.)
- Select the relevant request, and navigate to view the status.
Option 2: From Confirmation email
- Access the confirmation email that you should have received from Jira after submitting your request.
- Click “View request” from the link at the bottom of the email.
- When the request page opens, navigate to view the status.
How do I communicate with the Facilities Engineering team?
Option 1: From Jira
- Access Facilities Engineering Services on Jira and log in if necessary.
- Select “Requests > Created by Me” from the menu in the top right corner of the portal.
- Adjust the filter if needed to see all requests (otherwise, you will only see open, unresolved requests.)
- Select the relevant request to open the request page.
- Scroll down to the “Activity” section and select “Add a comment,” then type your comment.
Option 2: From Confirmation email
- Access the confirmation email that you should have received from Jira after submitting your request.
- Directly respond to the confirmation email. Your request will be received by your assigned Facilities Engineering contact via Jira.
What is not available in the Facilities Engineering Jira Platform?
There are a number of services that have not yet been incorporated to Jira. Find all services in the Engineering Services Directory. Maximo work orders will not be moved to Jira.
How can I share my request with others?
- Access Facilities Engineering Services on Jira and log in if necessary.
- Select “Requests > Created by Me” from the menu in the top right corner of the portal.
- Find the relevant request and click to open (you may need to adjust the filter to view all requests).
- From the individual request page, navigate to the menu on the right. Under the “Shared with” section, view all request participants.
- Click “+ Share” to add a request participant by adding their email address.
