The Facilities Division provides building maintenance and infrastructure support for over 90+ buildings at the Lab covering 200+ acres of groundwork, and in addition, management of various Lab site services and amenities. We are committed to supporting our Lab community through excellent service delivery.

Groups

The Facilities Division supports the core research mission of Berkeley Lab by maintaining a safe and functional site, and providing services and spaces for world-class science. Facilities provides space planning; engineering support of new building design and construction; renovation, repair, and restoration of existing spaces; operations and maintenance of buildings and grounds. Facilities also serves the Lab community through its management of contract services for the Lab’s guest house, cafeteria, fleet, transportation, shipping, and receiving services.

Resources

The Facilities Division has identified elements and best practices that provide recommendations that could be used to strengthen the operational culture safely and efficiently at Berkeley Lab, and identified tools that would be beneficial to these efforts.
