Request a penetration permit to conduct penetration or excavation of any LBNL ground or surfaces. Penetration Permits are part of a rigorous Laboratory-wide program, operated by the Facilities Division, to improve the safety of employees and subcontractors who are digging, drilling, or excavating at the Lab.
Requirements
- Designated Responsible Individual (RI): There must be a designated RI who is responsible for obtaining a Penetration Permit and overseeing the safety of the excavation or surface penetration.
- Training Course: To become an RI, you must take the training course FAC0070 (Penetration Permit Procedure Training). Click here to register for the class.
